Welcome meeting
Before you sign up, you’ll be invited to a remote session to hear about our programme and how to get the best value out of your investment. This is for headteachers and reading leaders.
Leadership training
This training enables headteachers and reading leaders to build an expert team using our half-termly model of assessment, practice and coaching.
We empower you to lead on the things that will make the biggest difference, so all children make speedy process.
In-school training days for up to 45 people
Whole school training raises teachers’ expectations of all children. Your trainer shows you how to start teaching Read Write Inc. with confidence from the start. All staff will need to attend both training days.
For ongoing practice, you’ll find training for phonics, reading and writing activities on the Online Subscription.
Two in-school Development Days
Development Days are unique to Read Write Inc. They are proven to support reading teams to get every child to read. The more Development Days you book, the greater the impact. Our standard package includes two days, but you can upgrade to have more.
A Development Day is your day and is bespoke to your school. The trainer works with the reading leader, headteacher and reading teachers, focusing on children who need extra support. We gain feedback after every session, so we know how much schools value these days.

Access to the Online Assessment
Assessment underpins everything. Our child-friendly online assessment gives you all the data you need at the click of a button – every half term!
The system is unique in giving you the full picture for every child by tracking individual progress. It also provides comprehensive data analysis at group and school level. This automatic analysis gives you more time to act on the data.
Access to the Online Subscription
We have the most comprehensive range of online training and support with over 1000 films for in-school and home. New films are added every week.
The subscription includes bite-sized training, in action films in the classroom, and our Virtual Classroom – including new animated films.
It also includes the training for all other Read Write Inc. programmes: Spelling, Fresh Start, Comprehension, Phonics for Nursery, and resources and training for Talk Through Stories.

One-to-one Tutoring
This one-day regional training unlocks the power of Read Write Inc. tutoring – from quick keep up to long term support for children with SEND.
All children can learn to read, if we do the right things. You will come away from this training with the tools to teach children needing the most support from the start, getting every child reading.
Targeted Training
These trainings focus on key areas of Read Write Inc. Phonics to deepen expertise and impact. Courses are at regional venues across the country:

- Get to Grips with Graphemes: PSC
- Focus on Fluency: Yellow, Blue and Grey Storybooks

Remote Progress Meetings
These hour-long remote progress meetings are with the reading leader and headteacher. They support with analysing data to agree actions, organise group teaching and tutoring, and plan home reading.
Many schools book remote progress meetings two or three times a year.
