This training unlocks the power of Read Write Inc. tutoring – from quick keep up to long term support for pupils with SEND.
Targeted Training – advanced phonics training
Hub leads can book any of our Targeted Training days for their hub-funded Read Write Inc. schools. Trainings are either a full-day face to face or 2-hour remote overview sessions.

Two-day, face to face training provides everything staff need to teach the programme with confidence. Perfect for new group teachers or those needing a ‘refresher’. Available for hubs to book for active partner schools only.

Talk Through Stories training
Developed and trialled over the last eight years, our Talk Through Stories programme extends and deepens young children’s vocabulary and love of stories. It embodies Section 2 of the DfE Reading Framework. This one-day, face to face training inspires teachers to get the most out of the programme and to get children talking!
All 60+ lesson plans are included as part of the Ruth Miskin Online Subscription.

Remote training, free of charge
We offer on-going support to graduated and partner schools so they can teach Read Write Inc. with success. These sessions mirror the actions shared with literacy specialists in the free of charge Priority Action Meetings.
We recommend schools join these sessions every half term. They are ideal for reading leaders, class teachers, and group teachers to bring a shared understanding of the things that will make the biggest difference.
Accelerate Progress in Reception
This one-hour half termly training session focuses on the recommended actions for that half term to ensure progress for all children, including ‘Making a strong start in Reception’. All sessions include opportunity for practice and coaching with a trainer.
Accelerate Progress in Year 1
This one-hour half termly training session focuses on the actions that will make the biggest difference that half term in Year 1, including ‘Spotlight on the PSC’. All sessions include opportunity for practice and coaching with a trainer.
