Read Write Inc. Fresh Start supports struggling readers aged 9 and above to accelerate reading progress. All resources are published by Oxford University Press.
The resources include a Teacher Handbook, 34 weekly Modules, Anthologies, Module Green Word Cards, plus other phonics resources to support learning. All resources are age-appropriate and aimed at struggling readers in Years 5 to 9 (P6 to S3).
All Read Write Inc. Fresh Start resources are available to buy from the OUP website and other school suppliers, or through your local OUP Educational Consultant.

Teacher Resources
The Teacher Handbook provides step-by-step guidance for teaching the programme in Years 5 to 9 (P6 to S3). Schools can also visit Oxford Owl for assessments and homework activities.
Classroom resources
There is an introductory module to help students learn to blend simple texts and 33 further weekly Modules with carefully levelled phonically decodable texts to help students catch up fast. Each module contains a fiction or non-fiction text and a range of comprehension and writing activities.
The Read Write Inc. Fresh Start Anthologies are seven motivating full-colour texts to provide further practice of the sounds and graphemes taught in the Fresh Start Module Books. The Anthologies align to the teaching progression of the Modules and include quizzes, playscripts and comic strips for students to enjoy.
