The Virtual Classroom provides short films to use in the Nursery and at home. The lessons show children how to read letter-sounds, blend sounds into words, read whole words and write letters. It also includes films for oral blending and speedy practice of sounds.
The training films show you how to teach the activities in the Read Write Inc. Nursery Handbook. This includes how to:
- teach the phonics lessons
- establish behaviour routines
- encourage children to talk throughout the day
- prepare engaging storytimes.
Staff need a copy of the Read Write Inc. Phonics for Nursery Handbook before training. These are available from Oxford University Press.
The in-action films show teachers teaching the lessons to Nursery children.
The Package also includes a one-hour remote session with a trainer to set nurseries up for success.
