Once a school has been trained, our experienced trainers return to work with your leadership team.
The trainer shows the Reading Leader how to coach reading teachers in lessons, run weekly practice times using our Portal films, and train tutors to help all children make speedy progress.
Our team is available to run Development Days either in school or remotely via Zoom.
Our consultant trainers work collaboratively with the leadership team and staff to ensure all children learn to read and write. New schools find that one Development Day per term helps get them off to a secure start. We work more regularly with schools needing intensive support.
During the Covid-19 crisis, trainers can work remotely with you via Zoom for 4 hours split into sessions throughout the day.
They help with the assessment, organisation, tutoring the slowest progress children and the best provision for children learning from home.

"
Being the English Coordinator, the development day was particularly useful for me as the Trainer talked me through the portal and how to input assessment data, outlined an action plan for continued development in our school and coached Read Write Inc. teachers. She also modelled 1:1 sessions and outlined general sessions for some of our less confident teachers. The two training days were valuable for all staff, whether or not they currently teach Read Write Inc.

As our Reading Leader is absent from school at the moment her support was invaluable. She worked closely with my new EYFS lead inspiring her and her team to move the phonics teaching on. She supported us to organise new groups to start on Monday and made extremely helpful suggestions regarding who should be in which group and who we need to tutor. Her enthusiasm is infectious and her demonstration of one to one sessions inspired my whole RWI team. Whoever said phonics and learning to read isn’t fun needs to watch Ashlin teach, a magical experience for my children! Fingers crossed our budget allows for a third Development Day next term.
