Coming June 2027.
A new edition of Read Write Inc.
“One belief has guided every decision I’ve made: every child can, and must, learn to read.
For 20 years, we’ve kept improving the programme. We now also have three years of assessment data collected from half a million children every six weeks. This data has given us unprecedented knowledge of where children thrive and where some falter.
This meant we had a responsibility to make our programme the best it could be – and to help schools afford the switch when they are ready.
Together, we have examined every step, refined every routine and created new Storybooks, teaching resources and a powerful new assessment system. Every aspect has been trialled and tested in schools, and I have personally overseen every lesson, story and illustration.
The result is a simpler, clearer Read Write Inc. that will help even more children make faster progress.”

After phonics: New RWI Readers
Stories that help children think, talk and write.
RWI Readers continue with more stories after the Phonics Storybooks. Children explore what characters want, believe and discover, building their understanding of people and the world around them. They rehearse and perform playscripts to understand characters and read with expression, and develop their vocabulary for speaking and writing.
- Performance brings stories to life.
- Stories that keep children reading.
- Vocabulary grows through every book.
- Writing grows directly from the story.
