EEF funds a Read Write Inc. effectiveness study

An exciting opportunity for primary schools in England: EEF funds large trial of Read Write Inc. Phonics and Fresh Start

Recruitment is now open for 120 primary schools to participate in a unique trial with the Education Endowment Foundation and Queen's University Belfast. All primary schools in England that have not yet received full training from Ruth Miskin Training to deliver Read Write Inc. Phonics and Fresh Start can apply. Primary schools in the North East are particularly encouraged to take part as part of the EEF’s North East Primary Literacy Campaign.

60 schools will be randomly allocated to receive full Read Write Inc. Phonics and Fresh Start training and ongoing termly development days for two years at no cost. The other 60 schools will act as a business as usual control group, continuing with their normal teaching of reading and support for struggling readers and receiving a financial incentive for taking part in the project.

Schools will be recruited on a first come first served basis. Speed is recommended if a school wishes to participate in this trial.
