Ofsted have published their annual state school report, highlighting a clear divide between primary and secondary, and north and south.
- More primaries are rated as good or outstanding (85%) than secondaries (74%). Both figures are up 3 percentage points from last year
- 16 local authorities were named as having particularly poor secondary performance, 13 are in the north and midlands
- Of the 173 failing secondary schools in the country, 130 are in the north and midlands, 43 are in the south.
