Five years ago Wistaston Green Primary and Nursery School in Crewe was the eighth worst school in the country, now Ofsted has ruled it is outstanding in every aspect.
Linda Davis, Headteacher says:
“We’ve got very, very good staff and we make sure they all have trained in our programmes for delivering the teaching of reading and maths so we are a model school for the reading programme Read Write Inc. which rests on good training, good support and ongoing observations of what people are doing, so we’re always looking to improve. We’ve also taken on a programme called Maths Makes Sense and we’re a model school for that. That already meets the new criteria of the 2014 National Curriculum.”
